Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has been assigned the additional charge of the Ministry of Education following the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. The appointment was confirmed by the President's Secretariat after the President accepted Pradhan's resignation on the advice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Joshi, who currently serves as the Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, as well as New and Renewable Energy, will now oversee the Education Ministry in addition to his existing responsibilities.
The change in leadership comes amid nationwide protests over the NEET-UG paper leak controversy and growing demands for reforms in the country's examination system. The government has stated that the move is part of its efforts to address concerns surrounding the education sector and restore public confidence.
